Our client is an innovative, industry-leading manufacturer serving the construction, industrial, and rail sectors is seeking an Electrical Field Technician to join their growing team. This is a National role covering the UK.
As National Field Technician you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance on-site of Battery storage products across the UK. This role involves working on a small range of products within the range, ensuring they are upheld to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction. You will need to carry out electronic part repairs and replacements, diagnose faults and complete practical tasks. You will need to build and maintain strong relationships with other departments seeking technical support. The hours of work will vary depending on locations you are traveling to; a lot of the work is planned in advance, however there is often reactive works that will need assistance immediately and that could be anywhere in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing: Provide National support to serve as a professional technical support on-site, providing solutions for our customers for annual services, advised system repairs and other diagnostics, with particular focus on VoltHub and PowerStor battery storage products. Escalate major issues or risks to the relevant internal teams promptly.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance of Armorgard products, particularly battery storage units. Including the electrical systems checks and hardware replacements. Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to minimise downtime. Complete all repairs in line with H&S guidelines and quality standards.
- Installation: Assist in the on-site installation of battery charging and storage products, providing guidance on the alarm system setup and electrical installation for the power source.
- Fire Risk Inspections on-site: Perform specific battery charging training and inspections to advise customers on how they can mitigate fire risks from failed Lithium-ion batteries and solutions which they can implement to reduce risks.
- Other technician-based tasks: Production, engineering support and general hands-on requests made by the line manager that are ad-hoc.
Requirements:
- Experience in a technical role within construction, plant hire, or facilities management.
- Multiskilled – confident in basic electrical and mechanical work.
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, 17th/18th Edition, Level 2).
- CSCS card preferred.
- CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test is desirable.
- Full UK driving license is essential.
- Strong understanding of H&S requirements and site compliance.
- Comfortable with nationwide travel and overnight stays when required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
Benefits:
Salary- £35,000- £45,000 depending on experience. Company van and tools provided. Expenses for overnight stays.
