The Role
We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead and develop the finance function. This role combines strategic input with operational responsibility, giving you the opportunity to work closely with directors to shape the financial future of the business while maintaining robust day-to-day controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the budgeting process
- Produce monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts
- Develop short- and long-term financial forecasts to support growth plans
- Oversee VAT, tax, and banking requirements
- Monitor and control costs, identifying variances and trends
- Maintain strong financial systems, processes, and internal controls
- Prepare financial reports and attend management/shareholder meetings
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
- Strong background in SMEs, ideally owner-managed businesses
- Advanced Excel and financial software skills
- Hands-on, commercially focused, and highly organised
- Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience, negotiable)
- Profit Share Bonus Scheme (post-probation)
