We are working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an accomplished and driven Financial Controller. This is a key leadership role within the finance team, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic organisation. This role is based in Speke, Liverpool.
Role Overview:
As Financial Controller, you will report directly to the Directors, taking full responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. You will play a pivotal role in the company’s ambitious plans to grow from £21M to £50M+ in revenue over the next five years, driving efficiency and strategic decision-making while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial team to ensure KPIs are met and align with the business plan.
- Oversee month-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare comprehensive management packs and executive summaries for the Board.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations for key business investments.
- Develop budgets and forecasts, identifying and addressing variances.
- Implement and manage internal systems, processes, and controls to optimise efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and VAT regulations.
- Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and financing solutions.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, ensuring consistent performance and growth.
- Support year-end audits and prepare accurate year-end financial statements.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong track record in financial control and management reporting.
- Expertise in handling imports/exports, VAT, Intrastat, and related financial processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven ability to analyse and improve systems, processes, and financial strategies.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability to change.
