The Mobile Electrician will provide planned, reactive, and preventative electrical maintenance across a portfolio of client sites. This role requires a self‑motivated engineer capable of working independently, delivering high‑quality workmanship, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The position involves regular travel between sites, so flexibility and strong organisational skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems, including lighting, distribution boards, emergency lighting, and small power.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks and diagnose electrical faults efficiently.
  • Complete minor installation works, such as new circuits, lighting upgrades, and small project works.
  • Conduct testing and inspection in line with BS 7671, producing accurate certification and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, site rules, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed using digital job management systems.
  • Liaise with clients and site contacts to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, energy efficiency, and asset upgrades.
  • Participate in an on‑call rota (if applicable) to support emergency response requirements.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection (or 2394/2395 equivalent). Desirable not essential.
  • Proven experience in a facilities management or building services environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working across multi‑site commercial environments.
  • Knowledge of building management systems (BMS).
  • IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant access equipment certifications.
  • Basic understanding of other trades (plumbing, HVAC, fabric repairs).
