A Mobile Plumber plays a crucial role in maintaining safe, compliant, and fully operational plumbing systems across multiple client sites. This role combines technical expertise with customer service, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while representing the facilities management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Carry out scheduled plumbing maintenance across commercial, industrial, or residential FM sites.
- Inspect, test, and service plumbing systems including pipework, valves, pumps, sanitary ware, and drainage.
- Complete water hygiene tasks such as temperature monitoring, flushing, and basic legionella control measures.
- Respond to plumbing faults, leaks, blockages, and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Escalate complex issues where specialist support is required.
- Install and commission new plumbing fixtures, pipework, and associated equipment.
- Support small works projects, refurbishments, and upgrades across client sites.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations (Water Regulations, H&S, Legionella guidance).
- Maintain accurate job records, reports, and digital documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments and follow safe working practices.
- Act as a professional representative of the FM provider.
- Communicate clearly with site contacts, providing updates and recommendations.
- Offer technical advice and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Travel between multiple sites daily using a company vehicle.
- Manage tools, stock, and materials effectively while mobile.
Skills & Experience Required
- Technical Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems.
- Experience in facilities management or multi-site maintenance (preferred).
- Understanding of water hygiene and legionella control.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Unvented Hot Water (G3).
- Water Regulations (WRAS).
- Basic electrical awareness.
- CSCS card.
- Reliable, proactive, and self-motivated.
- Professional and customer-focused.
- Calm under pressure with a positive attitude.
- Flexible with travel and working hours when required.
