The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

You will be required to carry out engineering activities within the department and work generated by the engineering CMMS in order of priority against criticality. You will install, repair, maintain, and inspect mechanical/electrical plant, equipment, and services to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Install, maintain, improve, and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively.
  • Work in conjunction with operational management and operators.
  • Respond to technical issues affecting production.
  • Maintain services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
  • Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
  • Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales.
  • Comply with Permit to work arrangements.
  • Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage.
  • Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
  • Have an awareness of site policies, procedures, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Carry out PPM schedules as necessary.
  • Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
  • Ensure that contractors are utilised in accordance with company procedures.
  • Providing emergency response support as required.

We Are Looking For

The successful candidate would be time served with a four‑ or five‑year nationally recognised/approved apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering. Compex trained and COMAH experience are both highly desirable but not essential.
