Maintenance Technician - £35,000 per annum South Kirkby

Duties

• You will be required to carry out engineering activities within the department and work generated by the engineering CMMS in order of priority against criticality.
• You will install/repair/maintain/inspect mechanical/electrical plant, equipment and services to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Install, maintain, improve, and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively.
• Work in conjunction with operational management and operators.
• Respond to technical issues affecting production.
• Maintain services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
• Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
• Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales.
• Comply with Permit to work arrangements.
• Identify and escape any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage.
• Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
• Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
• Have an awareness of site policies, procedures, and relevant engineering standards.
• Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Carry out PPM schedules as necessary.
• Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
• Ensure that contractors are utilised in accordance with company procedures.
• Providing emergency response support as required.

We Are Looking For

• The successful candidate would be time served with a four- or five-year nationally recognised/approved apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Compex trained and COMAH experience are both highly desirable but not essential.
