We embrace growth and are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic laboratory technician to join our Quality Control team. This hands‑on laboratory position supports production through sampling, testing and release of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
What you’ll do:
- Perform quality control sampling and testing of incoming materials, in‑process blends and finished products.
- Conduct colour matching, evaluation and approval against customer and internal specifications.
- Assess colour consistency and identify deviations from standards using visual and instrumental techniques.
- Support timely product release through accurate testing, analysis and SAP record management.
- Prepare and maintain Certificates of Analysis and quality documentation.
- Support investigations into quality notifications, non‑conformances and customer complaints.
- Calibrate, verify and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure reliable performance.
- Maintain laboratory records in accordance with GMP, food safety and quality requirements.
- Manage laboratory samples, chemicals and consumables, including safe storage and disposal.
- Support customer sample preparation and third‑party testing requirements.
- Assist with site environmental monitoring and effluent testing activities.
- Maintain COSHH documentation and promote safe handling of powders, pigments and chemicals.
- Support internal audits, external audits and customer visits.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with PPE and site safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory performance and product quality.
What you’ll need:
- Qualification in Chemistry, Colour Science, Materials Science, Food Science or related discipline.
- Previous experience working within a laboratory environment in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, personal care, colourant or related manufacturing sector.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining laboratory records and quality documentation.
