Duties
- You will be required to carry out engineering activities within the department and work generated by the engineering CMMS in order of priority against criticality.
- You will install/repair/maintain/inspect mechanical/electrical plant, equipment and services to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Install, maintain, improve, and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively.
- Work in conjunction with operational management and operators.
- Respond to technical issues affecting production.
- Maintain services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Work under general supervision.
- Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.
- Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
- Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales.
- Comply with Permit to work arrangements.
- Identify and escape any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage.
- Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
- Have an awareness of site policies, procedures, and relevant engineering standards.
- Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Carry out PPM schedules as necessary.
- Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
- Ensure that contractors are utilised in accordance with company procedures.
- Providing emergency response support as required.
We Are Looking For
- The successful candidate would be time served with a four- or five-year nationally recognised/approved apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Compex trained and COMAH experience are both highly desirable but not essential.
