We’re looking for university students with excellent writing skills, natural curiosity for exploring and understanding technical concepts, and someone who wants to get hands on with Unity to join the Documentation team. The Documentation team at Unity is growing! As a technical writer intern, you’ll work with developers who make some of the latest Unity features, translating what they make into valuable user documentation that is seen by millions of people. There is a lot of scope to help our users, by using their feedback from the Unity Forums, Twitter and the User Manual website to improve our documentation and explain and demystify highly technical problems. This position is an 11-month paid internship, starting in summer 2026 and based in Brighton.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work closely with Unity's development teams across the world
  • Research and document new features and workflows in time for release
  • Empathize with users and provide them with information to help them achieve their goals
  • Understand problems that result from poor documentation so you can improve our existing content and help users
  • Work with writers and editors to ensure your documentation is as clear, concise, accurate, and usable as possible

What we're looking for:

  • You must currently be studying at an undergraduate level and looking for a placement year
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great computing skills and a passion for technologies
  • A skill for analysing problems into their component parts
  • Ability to manage your time well and prioritise effectively

You might also have:

  • Passion for games and any experience of Unity or 3D game development
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages, game development, digital artistry, or real-time 3D development
  • Experience with source control software such as Git or Subversion to manage file changes across versions
