The opportunity Unity Pipeline is a groundbreaking initiative that will fundamentally transform how real‑time 3D experiences are built. By decoupling pipeline interaction from the Unity Editor, we are shifting Unity from a single‑seat application to an open, cloud‑based ecosystem. This is an incredible opportunity to build the backbone of modern game and industry production, enabling teams to query, modify, version, and deploy content seamlessly. You will be at the forefront of this shift, owning the highly critical storage abstraction layer, ensuring enterprise studios have the flexibility, robust security, and strict data location controls required to protect their intellectual property.
What you’ll be doing:
- Research user needs for the current and future target markets, focusing deeply on enterprise data security, on‑premises/VPC deployments, and storage abstraction.
- Engage with users and partners to collaborate on product validation for integrating major version control systems like Unity Version Control System (UVCS), Git, and Perforce.
- Collaborate across roles and teams to ensure our plans fulfill the most needed user outcomes, optimizing storage margin models while enforcing fine‑grained Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Assemble and communicate 1‑2 year product roadmaps for the pipeline’s storage, data strategy, and versioning infrastructure.
What we’re looking for:
- Product Management experience to independently use the right PM techniques in enterprise data strategy and scalable storage solutions.
- Experience with professional game production, to rapidly understand our users’ needs regarding source control, managing massive asset repositories, and complying with complex IP restrictions.
- Strong capabilities in collaboration and driving alignment across teams who may have different goals and priorities.
- You might also have storytelling and visual presentation abilities to distill sophisticated topics into clear and concise communications.
- Technical background sufficient to learn and engage in analysis of possible technical solutions to desired real‑time 3D outcomes, VCS abstractions, and strict data governance architectures.
