Position
The Company is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the business in Aberdeen on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join an agile and innovative business that is seeking to accelerate its R&D capabilities and expand its unique technology portfolio.
Creating quality designs, drawings and calculation packages, the Mechanical Design Engineer will assist in the design and development of all Engineering related activities.
Key Responsibilities Will Include the Following:
- To add value to engineering R&D efforts via direct or indirect involvement in:
- The management of R&D design projects
- Preparation of clear, complete and accurate detail, assembly and layout drawings in alignment with department standards
- A high productivity of output to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Support in the design and review of new products
- Perform mathematical analysis at component and assembly level.
- Perform tolerance studies at assembly level.
- Devise and support Test activities to verify designs
- Direct involvement in design will focus around R&D technologies.
- Supporting the Engineering team in meeting the ongoing requirements of the business
- Liaise with clients in order to support the commercial department.
- Direct involvement in all design, test and deployment of Unity Technology.
Requirements Job Knowledge and Experience:
- HNC or Degree qualified in relevant field (mechanical, product, electro-mechanical engineering/design)
- Relevant Design Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
- Experience with rapid turnaround on projects (e.g. 2-4 months from design to delivery)
- Good team player with sound interpersonal skills
- Good working knowledge of CAD system Solidworks.
- High level of mathematical capability to perform stress and load calculations.
- Ability to provide engineering solutions to client problems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise conflicting workloads and work to deadlines
