We’re looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to represent our bank across Wales — developing a high‑quality portfolio of commercial clients, expanding our network of introducers, and championing our values in the market. This is a role for someone who wants to do more than manage accounts. It’s for someone who wants to shape the future of ethical, sustainable banking in the region.
Responsibilities- Grow and Manage a High‑Quality Portfolio: Acquire, manage and maintain a portfolio of commercial banking relationships aligned to our business plan.
- Deliver financial and volumetric objectives that support the bank’s growth and performance.
- Broaden and deepen customer relationships to maximise income opportunities and enhance satisfaction.
- Be a Visible Ambassador in the Welsh Business Community: Build and nurture relationships with key sector bodies, professional intermediaries and local organisations.
- Develop a strong network of introducers and maintain a shadow pipeline of target businesses.
- Represent the bank with professionalism, credibility and a genuine commitment to our values.
- Champion Purpose‑Led Banking: Originate high‑quality lending and non‑lending business that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and our mission.
- Ensure credit exposures are well‑managed, with early identification and mitigation of risks.
- Support, Lead and Collaborate: Share sector knowledge and specialist skills to support colleagues across Commercial Banking.
- Help develop the relationship management and sales capabilities of the wider team.
- Provide insight to shape new products, services and processes that enhance the customer experience.
- Lead and manage others as required within the team structure.
- Strong business development and relationship management experience within commercial banking (typically 5+ years).
- Operational understanding of banking processes, regulatory requirements and legal considerations.
- Banking qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- A proven track record of developing quality business and managing commercial portfolios.
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities and drive tasks independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong planning, organisation and time‑management abilities.
- Confident in financial analysis and interpreting financial information.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
