We’re looking for a thoughtful, curious, and user‑centred UX/UI Designer to help us create digital experiences that work beautifully for everyone — including customers with additional needs or vulnerabilities. If you’re passionate about inclusive design, accessibility, and evidence‑based decision‑making, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Be Doing- Carry out user research with a wide range of customers, including those with additional needs.
- Facilitate interviews, workshops and focus groups to understand real customer experiences.
- Design clear, accessible and inclusive digital journeys across devices.
- Map customer journeys and define outcomes in a simple, human way.
- Lead or contribute to design reviews with a focus on vulnerable customer needs.
- Prototype ideas to explore and refine user experiences.
- Run usability testing and share insights with delivery teams.
- Work collaboratively in an Agile, cross‑functional team to iterate and deliver designs.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure designs are on‑brand and easy to understand.
- Collaborate with Product, IT and Risk/Compliance to deliver safe, compliant experiences.
- Create supporting content such as help guides and tutorials.
- Provide accessibility guidance and champion inclusive design decisions.
- Essential Experience designing digital products or services as a UX Designer.
- Strong understanding of inclusive design and accessibility principles.
- Practical experience designing to WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Experience conducting or supporting user research and usability testing.
- Ability to clearly explain design decisions to stakeholders.
- Desirable
- Experience in regulated sectors (financial services, healthcare, government, etc.).
- Experience designing for vulnerable customers or people with additional needs.
- Familiarity with FCA Consumer Duty, vulnerability guidance or inclusive communication.
- Experience with accessible design systems.
- Knowledge of accessible document standards (e.g., accessible PDFs).
