The opportunity: As a Developer Support Engineer (IC7) on Unity's VPC deployment team, you'll lead technical onboarding and solution design for our most strategic enterprise customers, acting as their primary technical point of contact from initial discovery through successful deployment. You'll own complex VPC implementations end to end, balancing hands-on technical leadership with a proactive, consultative approach that surfaces risks early and sets each customer up for long-term success.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead proactive technical onboarding and solution design for strategic customers, ensuring deployment and testing success criteria are achieved.
- Manage multiple customer projects and onboardings simultaneously, serving as the primary technical point of contact throughout.
- Regularly review customer environments to identify opportunities to optimize performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with internal teams to advocate for customer-driven product enhancements based on real deployment friction.
What we're looking for:
- 5–7 years in a customer-facing technical role in enterprise IT or cloud services.
- Expertise designing connectivity solutions for complex enterprise networks, including Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, VPN redundancy, and Transit Gateways.
- Knowledge of securing VPCs to enterprise standards (SOC 2/ISO), including PrivateLink endpoints, WAF configuration, and strict Security Group architecture.
- Proven ability to lead "whiteboard" discovery sessions that map current- versus future-state infrastructure for mid-sized enterprises and identify risks early.
You might also have:
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and experience advising customers on integrating VPCs into existing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Expertise in high-performance storage solutions and protocols (NFS/SMB) relevant to 2D and 3D asset pipelines (e.g., Perforce/Plastic SCM).
- Experience supporting customers in the games, media, or real-time 3D space.
