The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager with prior experience in a hands-on game development role to join our Engine Product team.

You will play a pivotal role in defining product requirements with technical input on customer need, value, measurability, as well as the ability to use and demonstrate product in a hands-on fashion.

This role will be focused on the user experience of the Unity engine's authoring features, helping to identify and implement usability improvements across Unity's Editor, Hub and beyond.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Working across the Unity engine, hub and other user touchpoints to identify and implement improvements to workflows, usability and improve the user experience
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Engineering counterparts to lead product areas hand-in-hand.

You will drive feature delivery across disparate teams, clearing roadblocks and aligning priorities.

  • Partner with stakeholders (e. g. Engineering, Quality, Design, Documentation, Program Management) to identify business goals, user needs, and technical requirements
  • Prioritize product features and improvements based on a mix of data and user feedback from key external partners and our wider development community.
  • Collaborate with other product team members to ensure solid cross-product integration and minimization of redundant feature code
  • Facilitate customer feedback loops to refine and improve the product by iteratively adding customer value
  • Hands-on tests and demos to understand requirements and proposed solutions, verify deliveries, and showcase delivered features to customers, users, and partners

What we're looking for

  • Experience working in Unity, ideally as a game developer
  • Technical expertise and the ability to evaluate complex technology stacks that cross multiple systems and platforms (i. e. game engines, cloud services, and external APIs).
  • Proven experience and knowledge of UX flows, with an ability to understand and improve on how users engage with software & UI
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively simplifying and articulating complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, from engineers to executives.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Strong skills in roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and stakeholder management
  • Cross-functional collaboration capabilities to bring teams together as we drive towards common goals and priorities

  • Technical understanding of game engine architecture, feature development, and the developer experience
  • Expertise in high performance programming with languages such as C# or C++
  • Storytelling and visual presentation abilities to distill sophisticated topics into clear and concise communications
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25% at peak times)
