We are seeking an experienced UK & Ireland Tax Manager to join a high-performing tax function on a 6-month contract, offering hybrid working (2 days per week on-site). This role is ideal for a commercially minded tax professional who enjoys strategic advisory work, business partnering, and driving value across a multinational organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic tax guidance to senior stakeholders across UK & Ireland.
- Act as a trusted consultant supporting commercial, operational, and financial decisions.
- Partner closely with the UK&I Tax Director.
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, with a primary focus on UK & Irish VAT and UK Corporation Tax.
- Ensure tax control frameworks operate effectively across in-house teams, shared service centres, and external partners.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external advisors.
- Support clear, consistent communication of tax considerations to non-tax audiences.
- Lead tax input on ad-hoc business transactions, restructurings, and strategic change initiatives.
- Implement group transfer pricing methodologies and other global tax strategies within UK&I entities.
- Oversee tax processes for statutory and group reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Authority Engagement
- Support management of interactions with UK and Irish Tax Authorities, including proactive handling of queries.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CTA.
- Extensive tax experience in a multinational in-house team or reputable professional services firm.
- Deep expertise in UK & Irish VAT and strong knowledge of UK Corporation Tax.
- Experience managing tax compliance, governance controls, and process oversight.
- Proven track record advising senior business leaders and non-tax stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with systems such as SAP, Google Workspace and/or Microsoft tools.
- UK R&D Tax Credits.
- Irish tax exposure.
- Healthcare/Life Sciences or pharmaceutical sector experience.
- Coaching, mentoring, or leadership capabilities.

- Location: Preference for candidates within commutable distance of Welwyn Garden City.
