Role Overview
We are seeking a seniorâlevel Data Team Lead (DTL) to manage the endâtoâend delivery of Clinical Data Management (CDM) services across singleâ and multiâservice clinical projects. This role supports a critical client programme and requires a confident leader with strong clientâfacing capability and full accountability for delivery, quality, timelines, and financial oversight. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across study planning, execution, and closeâout, acting as the primary point of contact for data management deliverables while ensuring regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Delivery
- Lead endâtoâend CDM delivery across multiple studies or programmes through the full data management lifecycle
- Act as Data Team Lead (DTL), Program Lead, and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) as required
- Provide leadership and direction to Data Operations and CDM teams to ensure quality, timelines, and contractual commitments are met
- Serve as the escalation point for unresolved data issues and drive resolution with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders
- Train, mentor, and coordinate junior DTLs and CDM staff
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary clientâfacing contact for all data management deliverables
- Manage ongoing communications, issue escalation, workload planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead discussions relating to timelines, resourcing, scope, and financial changes
- Maintain strong, professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Data Management & Quality
- Create, review, approve, and maintain Data Management Plans (DMPs)
- Ensure all CDM activities comply with GCP, regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and internal policies
- Maintain auditâready documentation and lead responses to audits and inspections
- Implement proactive quality management plans across multiple studies or programmes
- Ensure timely followâup and resolution of compliance findings
- Serve as Project Manager for singleâservice DM projects when required
- Track timelines, milestones, and deliverables in line with the Statement of Work (SOW)
- Review monthly financial reports and participate in project reviews
- Identify outâofâscope activities and manage change orders through to completion
- Support revenue recognition and invoicing activities
- Process Improvement & Strategy
- Identify root causes of delivery or quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Propose improvements to CDM processes, methodologies, and tools
- Participate in or lead global and local bestâpractice initiatives
- Support the development and implementation of new DM tools, technologies, or standards
- Contribute to SOPs, work instructions, training workshops, and knowledgeâsharing activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in health, clinical, biological, mathematical sciences, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience leading multiple clinical studies or programmes through the full CDM lifecycle
- Proven seniorâlevel experience as a Data Team Lead (DTL) or equivalent CDM leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of GCP, regulatory requirements, SOPs, and audit readiness
- Demonstrated clientâfacing experience, acting as primary contact for delivery and escalation
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Programâlevel leadership or SME responsibility within Clinical Data Management
- Experience implementing new DM tools, technologies, or process improvements
- Experience mentoring or lineâmanaging junior DTLs or CDM teams
- Exposure to global, multiâcountry trials and crossâfunctional environments
- Experience presenting at CDM workshops or professional forums
