A well-established accountancy practice in Leeds is looking to recruit a Personal Tax Manager to join their growing tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build upon their personal tax experience whilst developing their advisory skills and progressing their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

The role will focus primarily on personal tax compliance and advisory work, managing a varied portfolio of clients and acting as their key point of contact for tax matters. You'll enjoy regular face-to-face client meetings, providing practical advice and building long-term relationships.

The Role

  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
  • Reviewing and submitting Self Assessment tax returns
  • Handling HMRC compliance work, enquiries and correspondence
  • Identifying and delivering tax planning opportunities
  • Providing advice on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters
  • Supporting clients through a range of personal tax issues
  • Working closely with senior leadership on more complex advisory projects
  • Reviewing work and mentoring junior team members
  • Opportunity to take on people management responsibilities if desired
  • Exposure to other areas of tax as your career develops

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a tax-focused role
  • Strong personal tax compliance knowledge
  • Experience of advisory work or a desire to develop in this area
  • Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Keen to progress your career within a growing practice
