Help Create a Welcoming and Inclusive Social Club

Open Sight is looking for Volunteer Social Club Helpers in Andover to support vision impaired individuals attending social clubs, activities and events.

This rewarding role is a fantastic opportunity to help people build friendships, enjoy social activities and feel connected to their community.

Even a few hours a month can make a huge difference.

What Will You Do?

As a Volunteer Social Club Helper, you will

  • Welcome and support members attending the social club.
  • Assist with setting up activities and preparing the venue.
  • Encourage members to participate in activities and group discussions.
  • Provide practical support where needed to help individuals feel included and comfortable.
  • Contribute to a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

The role is flexible, and Open Sight will work with volunteers to make the most of their individual skills and strengths.

  • Have a friendly, supportive and patient attitude
  • Be reliable and enthusiastic about helping others
  • Be willing to complete a DBS check
  • Be willing to undertake Sighted Guiding training

No previous experience is required, as training and support will be provided.
