Help People with Sight Loss Stay Connected
OpenSight is looking for Volunteer Drivers in Andover to provide safe and reliable transport for vision impaired individuals attending social clubs, activities and events.
Please note: Volunteers must have access to their own insured vehicle and hold a full, clean driving licence. This role is not suitable for applicants who do not have their own car.
Even a few hours a month can make a real difference, helping people maintain independence, build friendships and stay active within their community.
What Will You Do?
As a Volunteer Driver, you will:
- Use your own vehicle to transport members to and from social clubs and activities.
- Provide safe, reliable and friendly transport.
- Assist members in and out of vehicles (full training provided).
- Follow pre-arranged routes and schedules.
- Help reduce isolation and improve access to community activities.
- Stay and join in with social club activities if you wish.
- Have their own insured vehicle available for volunteering
- Hold a full, clean driving licence
- Be willing to complete a DBS check
- Be willing to undertake Sighted Guiding training
- Be friendly, patient and reliable
