The successful Deputy Head of English will:

  • Offer a strong English specialism up to KS5
  • Support the Head of Department in leading, developing, and managing a well-resourced and friendly English department
  • Deliver creative, effective, and challenging English lessons, keeping up to date with curriculum developments
  • Monitor and track pupil progress to ensure high levels of achievement
  • Promote the school's ethos and values at all times
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum through data analysis, lesson observations, and reviews of students' work and schemes of learning
  • Contribute to and help lead departmental meetings
