Unity Education Trust are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our education team at Pathfinder School Douglas Bader Academy to start immediately.
The successful candidate will have experience of
- Covering lessons and following a plan.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons and activities to meet the pupil's educational goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Implement effective strategies, interventions, and support plans to address the pupil's specific learning difficulties or behavioural challenges.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, encouraging their social integration and promoting positive relationships with peers.
- Liaise with parents, providing regular updates on the pupil's progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting pupils with specific educational needs.
- Hold a relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role, or be willing to undertake further training.
- Exhibit strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage individualised education plans effectively.
- Show flexibility, adaptability, and resilience when faced with challenges or changing circumstances.
Our schools are specialists in catering for various students in an all-through setting, our varied cohort of students include children classed as missing education and permanently excluded from mainstream schools, as such many of the pupils have social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
This role requires a firm but fair role model to appropriately deal with the challenging behaviour you will encounter on a daily basis, be it in a 1:1 or group setting.
