The successful Head of Humanities will:

  • Work within an experienced and successful team, delivering exceptional outcomes and progression.
  • Drive ever-improving standards of curriculum and teaching across the Humanities.
  • Offer a strong Humanities specialism up to KS5 (History, Geography, or related subjects).
  • Lead, develop, and manage a well-resourced and engaging Humanities department.
  • Deliver innovative and challenging lessons, keeping up to date with curriculum developments.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress to ensure high levels of achievement.
  • Promote the school's ethos and values at all times.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum through data analysis, lesson observations, and reviews of students' work.
  • Lead departmental meetings and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
