About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide 1:1 complex care for a young child with recurrent seizures, requiring close monitoring and responsive, child-centred support in the home environment. The client is non‑verbal, self‑mobilising and requires assistance from a carer who is engaging, proactive and committed to building a trusting, positive relationship, not simply observing, but actively supporting development, communication and meaningful interaction. You will work as part of a family‑oriented care environment, supporting with daily routines, safety monitoring and clinical interventions. Equipment within the home includes an oxygen saturation monitor, suction device and emergency medication for seizure management. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 care tailored to the child’s clinical and developmental needs.
- Support with personal care, daily routines and safe mobility.
- Deliver seizure management, including monitoring for changes, following care plans and administering emergency medication once trained.
- Use equipment such as oxygen saturation monitors and suction machines to ensure ongoing safety.
- Engage the child through play, sensory activities, social interaction and non‑verbal communication methods.
- Observe and report any changes in condition promptly and accurately.
- Maintain a supportive, nurturing approach to build a strong and positive therapeutic relationship.
- Follow all safeguarding, clinical governance and documentation standards.
A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle is essential. Unity Care Solutions provides complex clinical healthcare services to children and vulnerable adults within the comfort of their own homes. You will work with a small number of our clients to provide dedicated and professional healthcare services. Available shifts include: Weekdays.
