The Role
Unity Advisory delivers exceptional service to family-owned businesses and their shareholders. As a Private Client Family Business Senior Manager, you will lead our advisory services to family-owned businesses, helping them navigate the complex intersection of family dynamics, ownership structures, and business operations. You will develop and maintain deep relationships with key family business clients, providing strategic tax and wealth planning advice.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive tax and business advisory services to family-owned businesses and their shareholders
- Lead the development and implementation of succession planning strategies for family businesses
- Advise on governance structures that balance family and business interests
- Coordinate with wealth management, legal, and other advisors to deliver holistic solutions
- Manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and family members
- Develop and manage a team of professionals, providing mentoring and technical guidance
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities within the family business sector
- Keep abreast of legislative changes affecting family businesses and communicate implications to clients
- Facilitate family meetings and discussions around business strategy and wealth transfer
- Use AI-enabled analytics to surface insights on ownership, governance, and succession scenarios, reducing manual analysis time and improving outcomes
- Leverage Digital & Transformation for systems automation and KPI dashboards tailored to family enterprise needs, giving real-time visibility to owners and boards
- Connect with Finance Operations to strengthen reporting, controls, and compliance that underpin family decision-making and transactions
- Offer managed services to scale compliance and accounting activities across operating entities and family offices
Qualifications And Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) and/or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience working with family-owned businesses
- Strong understanding of the dynamics and challenges specific to family businesses
- Experience in succession planning, governance structures, and shareholder agreements
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build trust with multiple family members
- Commercial acumen and ability to understand both business and personal objectives
- Strong technical knowledge of tax legislation affecting family businesses
- Leadership experience with proven ability to develop and motivate teams
