About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a pure-play, experience-led CFO advisory firm providing integrated finance, commercial, tax and deals support. We are free from audit conflicts and AI-enabled by design, combining deep technical expertise with automation, analytics and AI built into the delivery of every engagement. We are building an alternative to traditional advisory firms, focused on clarity over complexity, outcomes over hours, and practical advice delivered at pace for CFOs making high-consequence decisions.

The role

This is a dual-capability role sitting at the intersection of Financial Due Diligence and Deals Analytics. You’ll contribute to FDD engagements — assessing quality of earnings, working capital, and transaction risks — and you’ll bring the analytical firepower to go beyond the standard diligence output.

Day to day, that means interrogating client data, building models and dashboards that tell a clearer commercial story, and applying AI and advanced analytics to problems that traditional diligence hasn’t solved well. You’ll work closely with Unity’s Deals Partners and Senior Managers, and directly with clients from day one.

What you’ll do

  • Support buy-side and sell-side Financial Due Diligence, assessing quality of earnings, cash flows, working capital, and transaction risks — and helping to shape the commercial story behind the numbers.
  • Use data-driven techniques to rapidly identify and present drivers of value, test the deal hypothesis, and elevate the impact of diligence work.
  • Help clients prepare for sale or IPO by interrogating their data landscape, KPIs, and business plan reporting — and identifying where the numbers need to work harder.
  • Build and automate clear, impactful management reporting tools — dashboards and board-level outputs that give clients real commercial visibility.
  • Use LLMs, forecasting, scenario modelling, and predictive analytics to solve commercial problems — not as an experiment, but as standard practice.
  • Take large, messy datasets and translate them into clear, compelling recommendations for senior stakeholders, including C-suite clients.
  • Contribute to value creation projects post-deal — including profitability analysis, KPI redesign, and operating model analytics for PE-backed portfolio companies.

What you’ll bring

  • ACA, CIMA, or equivalent finance/accounting qualification.
  • Experience in a consulting or advisory role — Big Four or boutique — with a track record of delivering in deals or transaction environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to FDD, transaction services, or M&A — you understand the deal process and what clients need from it.
  • Strong analytical capability — comfortable working with large, complex datasets, financial models, and BI/analytics tools.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and how it applies in deals contexts. You don’t need to be a developer, but you’re interested, you’ve experimented, and you want to build that muscle.
  • Clear, confident communication — able to present data-driven findings to senior stakeholders in a way that lands.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in SQL and/or Python.
  • Experience with Power BI, Databricks, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
  • Excel financial modelling experience, including three-statement forecasts.
  • Exposure to PE value creation work — performance improvement, KPI redesign, or operating model analytics.
