About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a pure-play, experience-led CFO advisory platform. Built for the AI-enabled world, we operate a lean, conflict-free, and client-centric model that embeds AI across all workstreams. With no audit practice, we are free from the conflicts that constrain the traditional Big Four — which means we focus entirely on delivering value to clients with agility and outcome-based commercial models. Our culture is highly collaborative, flat-structured and free of traditional partner P&L silos.

The Role

We are growing our tax capability and looking for a Private Client Tax Manager to join the team. Our clients are entrepreneurs, business owners, high-net-worth individuals and their families. We want someone who thinks about how technology can help them help their clients — someone curious about how AI, automation and modern tax tools can make delivery of advice sharper and give advisors more time to spend with clients to gain the greatest understanding of their affairs. If you are the kind of person who has looked at a manual process and thought “there has to be a better way,” you will fit in here!

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in managing a portfolio of private clients including HNWIs, entrepreneurs, trusts and estates across income tax, CGT and IHT advisory work and associated compliance.
  • Support partners and senior colleagues on advisory matters including shareholder tax planning, tax residency, succession planning, and transactions.
  • Manage self‑assessment tax return preparation and delivery alongside related compliance obligations.
  • Liaise directly with clients and HMRC, handling correspondence and enquiries with confidence.
  • Identify opportunities to use technology and automation to improve how work is delivered — and actively push for those improvements.
  • Contribute to business development activity including proposals and client meetings.

What You’ll Bring

  • ACA, ATT or CTA qualified.
  • 3+ years of private client tax experience, ideally in a professional services or advisory environment.
  • Real technical knowledge across income tax, CGT and IHT; trust experience is a plus.
  • Genuine interest in how technology can improve tax delivery — familiarity with existing tools is useful; intellectual curiosity about AI and automation matters more.
  • Strong communicator — comfortable dealing directly with clients and explaining complex positions clearly.
  • Organised and dependable, able to manage your own workload and client deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness and an appetite to grow with the firm, learning from the expert team around you.

Work Environment

A truly hybrid and flexible working environment. We offer the opportunity to be at the forefront of AI‑driven advisory services. You’ll be working on cutting‑edge projects and encouraged to deploy the latest analytical tools and approaches. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast‑growing business and shape your career.

Additional Information

At Unity Advisory, we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, we will accommodate any suitable candidate requiring assistance to attend or conduct an interview. If you need any adjustments or support, please let us know when either scheduling your interview or in your application cover letter.
