About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a pure-play, experience-led CFO advisory firm providing integrated finance, commercial, tax and deals support. We are free from audit conflicts and AI-enabled by design, combining deep technical expertise with automation, analytics and AI built into the delivery of every engagement. We are building an alternative to traditional advisory firms, focused on clarity over complexity, outcomes over hours, and practical advice delivered at pace for CFOs making high-consequence decisions.

The Role

We are looking for Deals Tax Directors to lead and scale our M&A and transactions tax offering. Working alongside market leaders in M&A Advisory Services, we are looking for individuals who have the ambition and credentials to achieve Partnership within the next couple of years. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical rigour, commercial insight, and deal execution. You’ll be a key part of our growth story—advising on high-value transactions while helping to reimagine how M&A tax is delivered in a technology-enabled world. You’ll work closely with our in-house AI team to co-create delivery tools that give clients faster, clearer answers and a more responsive advisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of UK and international M&A tax advisory services including structuring, due diligence, SPA negotiation, and post-deal integration.
  • Advise private equity, corporates, and family offices on complex deals across sectors and geographies.
  • Deliver risk-balanced, commercially focused tax advice that supports confident decision-making across the transaction lifecycle.
  • Combine deep technical insight with commercial strategy to help clients unlock value and navigate complexity.
  • Collaborate with Unity’s AI and automation team to design new tools and delivery methods for tax and transaction support.
  • Support business development efforts, contribute to market positioning, and grow a strong, loyal client base.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, collaborative transactions tax team aligned with Unity’s flat and agile operating model.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience in UK and international M&A tax, ideally from a Big 4, law firm, or specialist advisory background.
  • Passion for using AI and technology to improve advisory outcomes and client experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic, practical advice under tight deal timelines and across varied transaction structures.
  • Strong grasp of deal dynamics and how tax considerations influence pricing, structure, and post-deal value.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management and business development in a deals environment.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a low-ego, high-impact mindset.
  • Professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

Work Environment

A truly hybrid and flexible working environment. We offer the opportunity to be at the forefront of AI-driven advisory services. You’ll be working on cutting-edge projects and encouraged to deploy the latest analytical tools and approaches.
