Objectives
- To work as a Contract Support Officer, providing a high level of customer service.
- Act as the first point of contact for all staff and visitors entering the premises.
- Liaise with the client and/or building tenants where applicable.
- Working alongside fellow Unitrust Colleagues.
- Ensuring the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment.
Duties
- The maintenance of good order on site, including the protection of everyone therein against violent acts, abuse and accident.
- The protection of the client’s property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste.
- The protection of private property belonging to the client, their staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage.
- Prevent offences against the law of the land, UniTrust disciplinary codes and policies and ensure all are brought to the attention of the management.
- Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and means of escape are clear.
- Undertake internal and external patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instruction and SOP’s.
- Working with the reception team meet and greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out.
- Some standing (for more than one hour) may be required due to patrolling (where applicable).
- Escalating any issues security and maintenance related issues to building management team by detailed and accurate emailed reports.
- Production and administration of access pass cards for tenants and visitors for the access control system (where applicable).
- Monitor, escalate and respond to alarms as required with the CCTV, Security & BMS systems.
- Management of Contractors for the client and tenants.
- Liaising with tenants particularly during tenant’s fit out stage.
- Completing permit to work forms as required using client lead portals, software etc (where applicable).
- Carry out escort duties for Contractors and some deliveries as required.
- Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Manage ad-hoc projects and requests as directed by the client or clients representative’s or Unitrust.
- Monitoring and responding to CCTV and intruder alarms.
- Liaison with the client maintenance team for out of hours works.
- Key Control and management of daily issues.
- General security duties and duties in line with the front of house role as requested by the client.
Person specification
Qualifications
- Officers must have the Security Industry Training Organisation basic qualification or equivalent experience.
- First aid qualification is desired, but not essential, as training can be provided by the company.
Training
- Officers must undergo a minimum of 2 or 3 days on site training across each site.
Aptitudes and attitudes
- Excellent literacy and communication skills, together with excellent verbal and written English.
- Possess a good telephone manner.
- Be computer literate, E-mail, Word and Excel.
- Carry and be capable of using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional security officer.
Personal attributes
- A consistently smart appearance in the uniform provided and required by UniTrust and its clients.
- Reliability, energetic, self-motivation and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
- Be able to cope with multiple tasks in a calm professional manner.
- Excellent timekeeping at all times.
- The ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels including the client, the client’s tenants and visitors in all circumstances including emergencies and other times of stress.
