Objective: To work as a member of the estate security team, providing protection for persons and property and ensuring a safe and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the provision of day‑to‑day Front‑Line Security for the estate.
- Interact with all stakeholders, visitors, tenants and management team, dealing with requests and escalating them to the estate Security Management team via the estate Security Control Room.
- Carry out regular patrols and inspections, both internal and external across the estate, including car parks.
- Provide relief cover for Front of House Security teams during breaks and holidays.
- Maintain good order on site, protecting everyone against violent acts, abuse and accidents.
- Protect private property belonging to the client, staff and visitors from loss, theft and damage.
- Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and escape routes are clear.
- Provide full reports on all maintenance and security related issues.
- Escalate contractor issues to the onsite FM / Estate Security Control Room.
- Provide information in accordance with company disciplinary procedures.
- Assist in training new staff to the client’s and company’s standards.
- Comply with company health and safety procedures.
- Maintain high standard of communication and good working relationships with all staff, visitors and contractors.
- Perform all duties professionally and diligently.
- Liaise with retailers to advise them on estate rules and licensing laws.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with investigations of thefts, complaints and incidents as required.
- Record and report all incidents.
- Record and report all accidents.
- Assist as directed in the event of any full building evacuation or major incident.
- Be deployed on estate events.
Person Specification:
- Good general health and fitness; able to work outdoors actively carrying out patrols.
- Previous security experience.
- Able to cope with high‑pressure situations.
- Excellent time‑keeping and attendance.
- Valid Door Supervision or Close Protection SIA licence; SIA CCTV badge beneficial.
- First aid trained.
Aptitudes and Attitudes:
- Excellent customer service, literacy and communication skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Excellent report‑writing skills.
Personal Attributes:
- Consistently smart appearance in the uniform provided and required by UnitTrust.
- Reliability, self‑motivation and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with a full range of people, including clients, staff and visitors, in all circumstances including emergencies and stressful situations.
