Rate: £13.72 average per hour

Contracted Hours: 42 hours and/or 4 – 16 Shifts Per Calendar Month (12 hrs per shift) (Days/Nights/Weekends)

Objective

To work as a Contract Security Officer, providing high-level customer service at our client site. Act as the first point of contact for staff and visitors, liaise with the client and stakeholders, and ensure a safe and secure environment.

Duties

  • Maintain good order on site, protect against violence, abuse, accidents.
  • Protect client’s property from loss, theft, damage, waste.
  • Secure private property of the client, staff, and visitors.
  • Prevent offences, ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Ensure fire precautions and clear escape routes.
  • Conduct patrols and inspections, report incidents.
  • Meet and greet visitors, carry out security procedures.
  • Report security and maintenance issues.
  • Manage access cards and control access.
  • Monitor alarms and CCTV systems.
  • Assist with emergency procedures.
  • Manage contractors and liaise with tenants.
  • Complete permit to work forms, escort duties.
  • Prevent unauthorized access.
  • Maintain records, handle ad-hoc projects.
  • Respond to CCTV and alarm alerts.
  • Coordinate with Building Services for out-of-hours calls.
  • Handle key control and daily issues.
  • Perform general security and front of house duties.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Security Industry Training Organisation qualification or equivalent.
  • First aid qualification preferred, training provided.
  • Valid UK manual driving license, minimum age 25, license held 2+ years.

Training

Minimum 2-3 days on-site training.

Aptitudes and Attitudes

  • Excellent literacy, communication skills, and command of English.
  • Good telephone manner, computer literacy (Email, Word, Excel).
  • Capable of using security equipment efficiently.

  • Smart appearance in provided uniform.
  • Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, able to work independently.
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • Tactful, diplomatic, able to handle stressful situations.
