Role
Working within this flagship building and prestigious environment in Canary Wharf your primary role is to ensure the security of people, premises, and property. As a CCTV Controller you will supervise all aspects of the client’s/tenant’s security requirements and support the Security Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the security. Further this position will form a key part in assisting the Security Manager with daily tasks that need to be adhered to in line with Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreement. In the absence of the Site Manager you may be required to step up as required. You will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors and become well versed in the processes and practices of a Security Supervisor professional.
Responsibilities
- Take an active interest in, and give commitment to the client and tenants
- Ensure that the environment and service is truly excellent and beyond expectation
- Promote the client and tenants and other service providers positively to all you come in to contact with, throughout the customer journey
- Be highly presentable, accountable; take responsibility and ownership for any tasks identified or allocated
- Ensure all contact, be it internal or external by telephone, face‑to‑face or any other medium, is clear, courteous, polite, professional, and respectful
- Where applicable use CCTV/access control and other electronic management systems and complete reports and documentation in a timely fashion
- Be familiar with all Security and Emergency procedures on site and assist in the facilitation of their safe execution and practice
- All Assignment Instructions / Operations Manual or Standard Operating Procedures are to be reviewed, understood, and followed
- Completion of rostered duties and all associated tasks or responsibilities to the highest possible standard
- Ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental procedures are followed and do not undertake any activity which could breach the SIA, GDPR or other relevant regulations
- Support internal and external audit processes from Unitrust Security representatives, Client/Tenant Representatives, the SIA, and any other relevant body with a valid reason for inspection or compliance checks
- Be resilient to working in the most sensitive environments, always dealing with any conflict with a respectful and empathic approach
- Prepare to manage a wide variety and diversity of scenarios, people, and challenges
- Assist in the induction, development, or ongoing training of new team members across the disciplines where appropriate
Security CCTV Controller Duties
- Provide a highly visible proactive security approach with emphasis on access and egress controls
- Operate internal and external security CCTV systems on a regular basis ensuring familiarity of site layout, building and GDPR processes
- Maintain key asset tracking and other administrative tasks pertaining to the security control room and workload activities – archiving daily paperwork, clear reporting writing, ID card management, IT movement, records, etc.
- Comply with all GDPR procedures and processes
- Ensure Health and Safety of staff and visitors as per safety file, responding to all emergencies in accordance with Control Room procedures
- Play an integral role in any emergency including evacuation, dealing with antisocial behaviour, first aid incidents (or assistance to trained first‑aiders)
- Prevent loss, damage, and theft of assets by carrying out regular camera patrols
Essential Skills
- Valid SIA SG/DS licence
- CCTV Licence
