The Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our team based in Barking, Essex. This is a permanent Monday-Friday night driving position, working on an established contract with regular start times and consistent weekly hours. The role involves completing scheduled deliveries and collections while ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with company and customer requirements. You will be responsible for completing vehicle checks, ensuring loads are safely secured, completing required paperwork, and maintaining good communication with the customer as required throughout your shift. The successful candidate will be expected to take pride in their work, look after the vehicle provided, and represent Unitruc professionally when dealing with customers. This role would suit a reliable driver who enjoys working independently while still having the support of an experienced transport team behind them.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.
- Previous HGV driving experience required.
- Good understanding of drivers' hours regulations and safe working practices.
- Reliable, professional approach with good communication skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience with trunking, deliveries or working on contract operations.
