We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding with precision and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, utilising your welding expertise and knowledge to contribute to high-quality production processes. The position is suitable for individuals with a strong background in welding and fabrication, eager to develop their skills further. This is a permanent onshore role.

Scope of work:

  • 8mm - 15mm welds and multi-runs.
  • Weld heavy duty steel parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Following part set up sheets.
  • Daily use of jigs/templates along with basic fabrication knowledge.
  • Knowledge and experience with basic plating and assembly tacking procedures.
  • Significant experience with MIG welding process.
  • Using hand tools such as pin grinders/angle grinders.
  • Completion of daily operation, TPM (total preventative/production maintenance) and pre-operation check sheets.
  • Documentation completion.
  • Manual handling tasks.
  • Completing tasks by use of engineering drawings.
  • Inspect quality of parts to maintain high standards.
  • Inspect all equipment to ensure it is in a safe working condition.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Other adhoc duties as requested by your line manager.

However, you will be given duties in respect of your abilities, skill-set and organisational structure. The Company will not ask you to complete tasks that are outside the scope of your capabilities.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in MIG welding.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal work and assembly processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Familiarity with the use of welding safety protocols and protective gear.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical principles relevant to fabrication tasks.

Salary: Between £12.37 and £13.51 depending on experience.

Hours: Shift patterns - all applicants must be willing to work days, backs and nights if required.
