We are looking for an experienced Kong API Engineer to join a major banking environment in Glasgow. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on API management, API security and cloud-native technologies. Banking or financial services experience is essential.
Key Skills Experience Required
- Strong programming experience in Golang and/or Lua
- Hands-on experience with API Management platforms, ideally Kong API Gateway
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and the OpenAPI Specification (OAS)
- Hands-on API security experience, including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- JWT validation
- Key Authentication
- Mutual TLS (mTLS)
- Strong cloud-native engineering experience
- Experience across CI/CD, Kubernetes and Terraform
Desirable Skills
- AWS experience, including ECS, EKS and MSK
- Deep hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway
