About the program:

Restoring Families is for children and young people from pre-birth and up to the age of 18, and their families, experiencing multiple, complex needs, and who are at elevated risk of pervasive, lifelong harm to their safety, development and wellbeing.

Your new role:

As an Area-based Restoring Families Coordinator (RFC), you will be providing a central point of contact for service access, coordination of targeted supports, as well as a mechanism for area level monitoring and reporting. The RFC is a stream‑specific, information and data‑driven position. It is not a family facing role and is not involved in identifying families or direct case practice.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or a related discipline is essential.
  • Current Drivers License valid for Victoria.
  • Sound understanding of the child and family service system in Victoria, including demonstrated knowledge of relevant government policies and legislation.
  • Good understanding of the Family Preservation and Reunification Response, which forms the basis for Restoring Families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of justice services will be highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of key local Child and Family Alliance partners including funded family service providers, Aboriginal community‑controlled organisations and child protection services.
