Intermusica is seeking a creative and ambitious Senior Artist Manager to join our London team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a professional with at least five years’ experience in the classical music industry who is ready to take genuine ownership of their work within one of the world’s leading artist management companies. In this role, you will help shape and build the careers of a diverse roster of both internationally renowned artists and emerging talent, working across the classical music industry globally. We are looking for someone who will be confident negotiating major international engagements, building long‑term artist strategy, and identifying new opportunities in a fast‑changing sector. You will join an international operation, with over 50 highly experienced staff, working across offices in London, Berlin and New York.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage independently a diverse portfolio of artists (conductors and instrumentalists), providing strategic guidance and mentorship in line with their long‑term career goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain contacts with orchestras, opera houses, venues, festivals, record labels, local agents, PR agencies, and other partner organisations worldwide.
  • Undertake regular trips throughout the UK, Europe and beyond to lead sales meetings on behalf of the Artist Management Department.
  • Negotiate fees and terms of contracts and take responsibility for the financial projections of your portfolio of artists.
  • Contribute to repertoire discussions with artists and promoters.
  • Assume the role of Line Manager to Assistant and/or Associate Artist Managers, as required.
  • Work with our Communications & Marketing Department on developing innovative promotional strategies for your artists.
  • Seek out potential acquisitions in line with departmental strategy and ambitions.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Artist Management Department and wider company initiatives.
  • Act as an ambassador for Intermusica and represent the Artist Management Department internally and externally, at meetings, conferences, and other related events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • An outstanding track record and a minimum of five years’ experience in the field.
  • The ability to think strategically, to navigate challenging situations with sophistication and finesse.
  • An existing network of international industry contacts.
  • The ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
  • Excellent communicator with first class English language skills (written and oral).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in another language (desirable but not essential).
