Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP) Plus Worker to join our Homelessness Support Services Program. PRAP Plus is a time limited outreach intervention program for households living in or entering private rental tenancies that require additional practical support to establish or maintain their housing. The PRAP Plus Worker will support clients to address the support needs which are contributing to the risk of tenancy breakdown, support them to maintain sustainable tenancies and ultimately prevent homelessness. The role will deliver practical assistance to enable clients to access private rentals, develop support plans tailored to the needs of each household and offer advocacy support, including at VCAT where required. The PRAP Plus Worker will primarily support clients in the communities where they live, assisting them to establish links within their local community and identify referral pathways to relevant community support services.

Your skills and experience
You will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Diploma in Community Services, Welfare or related disciplines. A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related discipline will be desirable.
You will bring:
- 12 months' experience in the community service field.
- Experience in working within the housing and/or homelessness sector.
- Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Valid and current Driver’s License.
