Solutions Design Engineer (materials handling & warehouse automation solutions) £55-65,000 UK based Midlands offices for occasional meetings. The business is expanding in the UK, providing automated warehouse management solutions and material handling solutions. An innovative and idea welcoming environment, seeking ambitious and innovative mechanical / electromechanical engineers. This role is central to the UK expansion and will provide designs for new clients, building solutions to meet automation requirements in warehouses and material handling.

The role:

  • Working on designing clever solutions for materials handling and warehouse automation using AutoCAD
  • Analysing and communicating/documenting customer requirements
  • Modelling data flows to support solution designs
  • Preparing design proposal documents
  • Liaising with suppliers to assess the most appropriate equipment for our bids

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years’ experience in material handling design work
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Excel as a minimum
  • Understanding of material handling industry terms, processes and tolerances
  • Awareness of automated warehouse technology
  • Be able to present your design to the end customer
  • Keeping abreast of product developments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
