We’re seeking a Principal Kubernetes Platform Engineer to own and evolve our global container platform. You’ll lead the design and operation of highly available, multi-region Kubernetes environments used by teams across a large, distributed organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building a reliable, secure, and developer-friendly platform at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own the Kubernetes platform strategy, roadmap, and technical standards
- Design, build, and operate multi-region, highly available Kubernetes platforms
- Lead architecture decisions across networking, storage, ingress, and cluster lifecycle
- Drive Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and automation-first practices
- Partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience and self-service
- Embed security, reliability, and observability by default
- Lead platform incident response and continuous improvement
- Mentor and guide platform engineers, setting a high technical bar
Required Experience
- Strong production experience running Kubernetes at scale
- Proven experience supporting global platforms across multiple regions
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes networking, security, and operations
- Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong Linux, container, and distributed systems troubleshooting skills
- Experience in a technical leadership or senior engineering role
Nice to Have
- Service mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd)
- GitOps tooling (Argo CD, Flux)
- SRE practices, SLOs, and error budgets
- Multi-cluster or disaster recovery design
- Compliance and security frameworks exposure
