The Opportunity

We’re working with a growing, technology-led organisation delivering automation and software solutions across logistics and warehousing. They’re looking for a Database Administrator to join their Systems team, supporting critical platforms used by both the business and its customers. This is a broad role combining BAU support, performance tuning, and project work, with exposure to modern DevOps practices and cloud environments.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and optimising database systems, ensuring they remain secure, reliable and high-performing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting Postgres and Oracle databases
  • Monitoring performance and carrying out query optimisation and tuning
  • Implementing backup, recovery and high availability strategies
  • Performing upgrades, patching and ongoing maintenance
  • Troubleshooting database issues and supporting production environments
  • Contributing to CI/CD and DevOps initiatives
  • Working closely with software engineers and internal teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
  • Strong knowledge of Postgres and/or Oracle
  • Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of backup, recovery and database security
  • Exposure to Linux environments
  • Awareness of CI/CD or DevOps practices

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)
  • Exposure to tools such as Jira, Bitbucket or similar
  • Knowledge of high availability and replication setups
