The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead a business-wide reporting and management information transformation programme for a large multi-site organisation.
Following significant growth and multiple acquisitions, the business has developed numerous reporting methods, data sources and KPIs across different divisions.
Senior leadership is now looking to establish a clear reporting framework, improve data transparency and create a single version of the truth across the organisation.
This is a highly visible assignment that will involve working closely with executive stakeholders to understand how data is currently used, challenge existing reporting practices and define a future-state reporting model that supports better decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a full assessment of the current reporting landscape across multiple business units.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, challenges and priorities.
- Review existing management information, sales reporting and operational reporting processes.
- Identify reporting duplication, inconsistencies and data quality issues.
- Define future-state reporting requirements and KPI frameworks.
- Create a target reporting operating model and governance structure.
- Work with business leaders to establish agreed definitions and measures across the organisation.
- Document business requirements for reporting, dashboards and management information.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews across multiple UK sites.
- Collaborate with technology, data and reporting teams to support future delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst delivering reporting, MI, business intelligence or data transformation projects.
- Experience defining reporting frameworks, KPI structures or management information strategies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and challenge constructively.
- Experience identifying and rationalising large reporting estates.
- Strong workshop facilitation and requirements gathering expertise.
- Ability to translate business needs into reporting and data requirements.
- Experience working within complex, multi-site organisations.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Desirable Experience
- Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar BI/reporting environments.
- Reporting rationalisation or \"single source of truth\" initiatives.
- Data governance, master data or data quality programmes.
- Commercial, sales, operational or executive reporting projects.
- Experience within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, supply chain or multi-site environments.
- Working Pattern
The successful contractor will spend the first 2-3 weeks travelling between key UK locations to meet stakeholders, understand local operations and gather requirements.
Following the discovery phase, the assignment is expected to become significantly more remote with occasional onsite attendance as required.
Ideal Candidate
This role would suit a Business Analyst who has previously led reporting transformation initiatives and is comfortable operating at board and executive level.
The successful individual will know what questions to ask, how to uncover reporting challenges and how to define a practical reporting model that the business can adopt and trust.
