We are looking for a passionate and motivated SEN Behaviour Analyst to support autistic pupils in a specialist education setting. This role is also known as a SEN Teaching Assistant or Trainee CABAS Teacher and is a fantastic opportunity for individuals interested in autism education, behavioural analysis, psychology, or specialist teaching.

Working within small classes and 1:1 settings, you will support pupils using behaviourally based instruction and positive reinforcement techniques to accelerate learning and help students reach their full potential.

Working Hours

  • Full-time schedule (36.75 hours):
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 08:45 – 16:45
  • Tuesday: 08:45 – 17:30
  • Friday: 08:45 – 16:30

Part-time applications are welcome (3–4 days per week). Please note: working days must include Tuesday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide teaching and support to autistic pupils following individualised learning programmes
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and structured activities
  • Use behaviourally based teaching methods and follow behaviour support plans
  • Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Support pupils during breaktimes and play activities
  • Provide personal care where required (e.g. toileting or feeding)
  • Assist with school trips, extracurricular and off-site activities
  • Contribute to the creation and organisation of teaching materials
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to the wider school team
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
  • Build knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and associated needs
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and organisational policies

About You

We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities (professional, voluntary, or personal)
  • GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Maths
  • Confidence supporting children who may display challenging behaviours
  • A calm and positive approach in high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to provide personal or intimate care where required
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A positive, proactive attitude
  • An Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.
