About the Company

We are currently recruiting for an organised, proactive and experienced Administrator to join a friendly team within a specialist school setting, providing essential administrative support around the medical care of autistic children and young adults.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll play an important part in keeping medical records, procedures, training and first aid processes organised, accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities

  • Checking medication and associated equipment in line with agreed procedures
  • Supporting the creation and annual review of pupils' Individual Healthcare Plans
  • Liaising with parents, medical professionals and school staff regarding medication and emergency procedures
  • Coordinating and recording immunisations, medical appointments and visits
  • Monitoring first aid incident logs and providing feedback to staff and management
  • Producing monthly reports on medical incidents and pupils' medical needs
  • Supporting Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) meetings and debriefs
  • Monitoring sickness, illness and infection across the school
  • Maintaining medical training records and arranging refresher training
  • Checking and replenishing medical room and first aid supplies
  • Ensuring medication administration and records are completed accurately and in line with GDPR requirements
  • Acting as a first point of contact for staff requiring medical support as a trained first aider
  • Providing wider administrative support to the Senior Management and Administration Teams
  • Supporting learner arrivals and departures
  • Providing reception cover when required
  • Assisting with meeting minutes and wider events
  • Supporting emergency procedures and drills when required

Qualifications

  • Good general education to A-level standard or equivalent
  • GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths

Required Skills

  • Strong administrative experience and excellent organisational skills
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and work logically in a busy environment
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to use your own initiative
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances

Preferred Skills

  • Experience within a medical, school, healthcare or care environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Pay range and compensation package

Salary: £16,460 pro rata (£26,000 FTE)

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:30am–3:30pm

Contract: Term Time Only – 39.2 weeks per year
