Unitemps are recruiting for a Policy Officer within the Institute for Global Health department. The role is to work from 1st September 2026 until 30th October 2026 part-time at 14.6 hours per week. Payment is set at £20.92 + holiday pay per hour and the role will be HOME based.
The Lancet Countdown is a global multidisciplinary collaboration that tracks the links between climate change and health, providing independent evidence to support policy and decision-making worldwide. Through its annual reports and country-level analyses, the collaboration demonstrates how climate change is affecting population health and highlights opportunities for a healthier, more sustainable future.
As preparations for the 2026 Lancet Countdown Report accelerate, we are seeking a Policy Officer to support the development of policy-focused communications products that translate complex climate and health evidence into accessible, engaging resources for policymakers and other key stakeholders. Working closely with researchers, policy specialists, and communications colleagues, the postholder will play an important role in transforming country-level data and findings into visually compelling, policy-relevant materials that support advocacy, engagement, and impact.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and succinctly for policy audiences.
- Proficiency in Canva to develop visually engaging policy products using established templates and brand guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Undergraduate degree in science communications, public policy, public health, environmental policy, international development, political science, or a related field.
- Experience supporting policy, research, public affairs, or evidence-to-policy projects.
- Experience synthesising research findings and translating evidence into audience-focused outputs.
Remote: you must have the right to work in the UK, be physically based in the UK and be able to travel to our London-based office for a RTW check (if required).
