We have a unique and exciting opportunity at a school, to use your creativity in the role of Horticulture Tutor, teaching skills to children and adults diagnosed with autism.

  • Vocational experience in horticulture and/or gardening role, with strong plant knowledge and identification skills
  • Proven experience in a teaching/teaching assistant role or equivalent
  • Knowledge and an understanding of working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities would be an advantage

  • Passion for helping others learn and develop skills
  • Sound literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Effective planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant knowledge of health and safety considerations and risk assessments
  • A team player with good problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle or lift would be advised due to our remote location of our setting
