The project, funded through a Student Success Grant and led by the Vice Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) as Principal Investigator, aims to make group-based assessment more inclusive and equitable for students with disabilities and neurodiversity, addressing barriers related to communication, organisation, collaboration and highly visual tasks. By promoting flexibility, belonging and equitable participation, it will establish a sustainable model that can be scaled across programmes and benefit all students. It will develop an Accessible Groupwork Toolkit and Flexible Contribution Framework to promote accessible communication, leadership development, structured allocation of roles, proactive accessibility planning, and flexible ways for students to contribute. The Student Researcher will contribute to all stages of the research process, including focus group participant recruitment, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
This role provides an opportunity for a UCL student to gain experience of educational research while contributing a valuable student perspective throughout the project. We encourage applications from those who are underrepresented at UCL including but, not exclusive, to disabled, D/deaf and neurodiverse people, LGBTQ+ people, and people from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds.
