Our client in Newport Shropshire is looking for a QA on a temporary basis, this is for an immediate start and is an ongoing temp role. Working hours are Wednesday-Saturday Shifts - 6am-6pm OR Thursday to Sunday 6am-6pm OR 5am-5pm or 10am-10pm.

You will work alongside the production team with online checks, ensuring that the product meets the customer specifications at all times. Our client packages food for large supermarket contracts, therefore the quality inspection is a vital role within our client's organisation. Comfortable working in a food packaging environment, areas where you may be required to work could be cold. High Vis Clothing will be provided - sensible shoes should be worn. £13.39 an hour.

  • Collection and submission of shelf life samples.
  • Be trained in other aspects of the full multi-skilled QC function (shelf life/outloading/inloading).
  • Have a clear understanding of Customer Specifications and their requirements.
  • Ensure that all QA equipment is calibrated prior to daily use.
  • Understand and complete all relevant documents and reports correctly.
  • Carry out online label checks as required ensuring that they are correct.
  • Carry out Intake inspections on arrival of fruit and complete the necessary reports for each arrival.
  • Report any quality issues on arrivals or outloading to the Quality Manager in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all QA equipment is cleaned daily or to the cleaning schedule.
  • Report all quality issues found to the Technical Manager.
  • Work closely with production colleagues to resolve any issues.
  • Adhere to all QA procedures at all times.
  • Carry out label checks on box end labels before they are applied.
  • Any other reasonable duties deemed necessary to the needs of the business.

Excellent understanding of QA Procedures and Customer Specifications. Good Team Player with the ability to work independently when required. Attention to detail in all aspects of the role and ability to meet tight deadlines. Basic I.T skills knowledge of Microsoft Office and Prophet Stock System. Good understanding of HACCP, BRC. Flexible and positive in approach. Basic Food Hygiene as a minimum requirement. Excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills at all levels. Good Spoken English with clear ability to read and write in English. Confidence to discuss issues when required. Fresh Produce experience such as Production Operative / previous QA. Good Attitude towards Health and Safety.
