We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our friendly finance team at Harper Adams University. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, building relationships, and helping keep finances on track. You will play a key role in making sure invoices are raised correctly, payments are collected on time, and customers are supported when needed. Whether you have worked in a credit control or sales ledger role before, or you have transferable finance experience, we would love to hear from you.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Raising invoices accurately and on time
  • Chasing outstanding payments by phone and email
  • Keeping track of incoming payments and recording them correctly
  • Working with colleagues across the university to resolve payment issues
  • Setting up payment plans where needed
  • Helping reduce overdue debt and keeping accounts up to date
  • Supporting with basic reports and month-end tasks

Skills and experience:

  • Some experience in credit control, sales ledger, or a similar finance role
  • Good attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
  • Comfortable using Excel and systems (training can be provided)
  • Strong communication skills especially when handling tricky conversations
